It seems to us, sometimes, that in this hyper-modern world where everything happens in an instant, and where we are always connected to each other by technology wherever we are, that there isn’t space for the slightly old fashioned virtue of dignity, patience and manners. Well, that may seem to be the case but we’ll be damned if we’re going to let these things go without a fight.

The Lady represents everything that OK! and Hello! don’t. Even the very name represents this – there is no need for attention seeking exclamation marks and shouts, instead simply the most dignified synonym for woman there is. The Lady brings you a guide every week to the thorny questions of modern manners, dealing with how to behave with politeness and propriety in modern situations. There is so much to be said for some slightly old-fashioned virtues, even simply slowing the pace down and not seeming to be in a rush to tell you the latest trivial news about celebrities is a refreshing change from the norm.

The world may have changed a lot since The Lady began publishing in 1885, but there are some things from that time that should not be forgotten. Help restore a little class and decorum to the country, forgo the exclamations, bold type and brash colours of the majority of women’s weekly mags and give The Lady a chance instead; she won’t disappoint.
