This magazine is an unusual larger size which makes it an impressive publication when you first get your hands on it. The wine reviews are extremely extensive with ratings and commentary about each wine with every single review; we were impressed with how much work clearly goes into Wine Spectator to make it original and entertaining. There are so many interesting wine features in this magazine that lovers of wine will find out something new and exciting in the world of wine.
We liked the intellectual and well written reviews and even chuckled at a few of the descriptions. Readers can see that they have been independently reviewed from the language and honesty used by each writer. One reviewer wrote that a Shiraz was, ‘firm in texture and lively in flavour, brimming with juicy currant and blackberry fruit that glows nicely on the deftly modulated finish’. What an amazing review! It is intellectually written and beautifully articulate. What’s so brilliant about the magazine is that all the reviews are like this. We wish we could write more like that…wine drinkers are clearly very clever and sophisticated individuals in our opinion! We wonder how they set about reviewing their wines; presumably not all in one go. We doubt that the reviews would be so beautifully eloquent if that was the case!
Wine fanatics everywhere can’t afford to miss out of Wine Spectator. Whether you love your reds/whites or roses, the magazine will keep readers up to date with all the exciting developments in the world of wine-making. The magazine will also provide in-depth profiles and reviews of the famous wine makers themselves, so readers can be as nosy as they like and get even closer to the action.
