An absolutely delightful quarterly travel publication from America, Afar Travel magazine takes a laid back and informal look at exploring the world.

Afar covers both the USA and the rest of the world, meaning that wherever you are from you’ll find something of interest, and it does so in some style – the quality of the journalism and the photography is simply excellent. It features some astonishing exotic locations to visit, what to do when you get there, advice about travel and accommodation and recommendations of the best kit to take with you. All of this is written in a personal, direct yet informal manner, making it an easy, pleasant and interesting read.

Buy a single copy of AFAR TRAVEL or a subscription of your desired length, delivered worldwide. Current issues sent same day up to 3pm! All magazines sent by 1st Class Mail UK & by Airmail worldwide (bar UK over 750g which may go 2nd Class).

We really like Afar magazine here at Newsstand, and we’re more than confident that you will like it too. It is a really high quality magazine, printed on lovely paper and perfect bound – no staples in evidence here.

Afar takes the clever route of splitting its content into three main sections (four if you count the excellent in-depth features that you can find throughout it). Firstly it asks us simply to wander, offering four different world destinations to explore. The we use our eyes and see, exploring different places across the globe simply through our eyes, offering an array of photographs, images and even graphs. Then we can connect – advice on what to do and where to go in the place you are visiting, how to connect with the locals and the local culture. We think this represents an excellent way to go about writing about the wonderful art of travel, mirroring the processes involved in doing it. Firstly you figure out where to go, then you see it, then you connect with it on a deeper level.

Incidentally, if Afar magazine floats your boat (and it definitely will), you should have a look at Endless Magazine, another exceptional travel publication that we stock here at Newsstand with a unique twist.
