It was difficult, but we resisted the urge to make a bunch of lame puns about this magazine – ‘of the highest calibre’, ‘always on target’ and ‘scoping out the best buys’ were a few that almost made it in before our editor heard us laughing to ourselves.

Pretty much the one thing every can agree with about guns, regardless of their political or moral stance on the subject, is that they look damn cool. There have been many a century’s worth of effort put towards making these machines that are designed to fire a small amount of metal towards and through people and targets efficient, and it seems like just as much effort has been spent on making them appealing.

Perhaps we’ve inadvertently hit on a solution to solving all gun crime there. Instead of restricting access to guns, simply get all the manufacturers to make them look as unappealing as possible. We’re thinking bright pink metal and garish primary colours, decals of kids TV programs and the like. No self respecting gangster will want to commit a drive by with a pink gun covered with Hello Kitty designs. The only drawback would be that it might be difficult for legitimate users of guns to get over the garish new colour schemes, making this sadly only a pipe dream. NB
