Whoever Lindy is, she’s doing a fine job of covering American Football. Lindy is actually a bloke – Lindy Davis Jr., and is the figurehead of a network of 200 writers, each bringing you the important news from every team in American football, that most padded of sports. It is really rather comprehensive – you’ll want to pick up a copy and keep it with you throughout the season as a highly useful reference work.

We were half tempted to write a scathing article about how the American form of football is essentially rugby with some cushions strapped to you, but that would hardly be fair. Plus, all the players are pretty damn stacked so we don’t really want to offend them – our years of training through lifting heavy magazines is apparently no match for time spent down the gym.

We would like to quickly give mention to the best non-athletic athlete to ever play any sport, and you’re right, he took part in American football. William ‘The Refrigerator’ Perry stood at 6 foot 2 inches tall, and weighed in at an impressive 380lbs. Despite (or because of) this he played 138 games and has the wonderful stat that in his offensive career he ran 5 yards. And scored 2 touchdowns. Now that’s our kind of sportsman. NB
