A spin-off of the infamous character from the stables of 2000AD comics, Judge Dredd Megazine (yes, that’s what they called it) is full of excitement and action.

Though this is more than just a comic book it does feature some fantastic stories from the world of Judge Dredd, featuring the Judge himself as well as lesser known characters. The artwork is as excellent as you would expect throughout, and will keep any fans enthralled. The Megazine also features interviews and news from the world of comics and reviews of recently released sci-fi films

We think that a Megazine might be a really rather uniquely terrible name (though we know why they called it that, after ‘Mega-City One, the giant sprawling metropolis that covers the eastern side of the USA in the world of Judge Dredd, so we will allow them a little leeway there), but it is really a rather good idea for a magazine.

Comic books have long been entertaining us with their heady blend of excitement, action, intrigue, suspense and adventure, but it is really quite a limiting format. In order to maximise the suspension of disbelief of the reader it is crucial that you don’t break the flow of the story lines with articles or interviews that take them out of the moment. As such you can’t really break the fourth wall and talk directly to the audience (at least not unless you are Deadpool – there’s one for the comic fans out there). This magazine therefore offers the space for writers and artists to show off some of their best story lines but also have the space to discuss the comic books themselves, their own experiences and feelings towards their work.

So, feel free to put on your best Stallone impression and proudly proclaim ‘I am the laaaw’ when reading this magazine. NB
