La Settimana Enigmistica is the Italian puzzle magazine, featuring crosswords, variations on crosswords like barred crosswords and diagram-less crosswords, riddles, often in verse, general knowledge quizzes, games, and comics, as well as number based puzzles like Sudoku, and at least one competition every week, as well as a number of strange facts and little stories. This puzzle magazine is great value with several puzzles on each page, is about 50 pages long, and is in Italian throughout.

La Settimana Enigmistica magazine is one of the few magazines of its kind that completely eschews advertising. This means it’s a pleasant read where you can concentrate on the puzzles, and not on all the other junk that draws your eye. It’s an unassuming little magazine: small, printed on reasonably robust matt newspaper, and issues weekly.

If you don’t speak Italian you may be completely baffled by everything except the number puzzles, but the best way to learn is jumping in at the deep end. The solutions to the puzzles are printed in the next edition, so if you want to make sure you’re getting them right, you probably want a subscription.
